LCI Overview

Lions Clubs International (LCI), founded in Chicago, IL in 1917 by Melvin Jones, is known for its motto: “We serve.” The Lions Club vision is to be a global leader in community and humanitarian services. Its volunteers serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding. Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with 1.4 million members in more than 45,000 clubs best known for fighting blindness, yet also aiding in caring for the environment, community projects, feeding the hungry and assisting seniors and the disabled.

Angel Tree - providing Christmas gifts to the children residing at the Ocala Women's Domestic Abuse Shelter

Aluminum Can Pop-Tops - delivered to Ronald McDonald House in Gainesville

Eye Examinations and Glasses - provided to those in need

Eyeglass, Cell Phone, Hearing Aid Reclamation

Food Donations - donated to Interfaith Emergency Services

Free Diabetic Screening

Meals for the Hungry - provided bi-monthly at Interfaith Emergency Services

Special Olympics - volunteering at events in Marion County

We Serve

The Ocala 200 Lions Club is dedicated to helping meet the needs of the local community. Since its inception in 2008,  100% of the funds raised go directly back into the community through needed services such as Eye Exams and Eyeglasses, Guide Dogs, Food for the Homeless, Backpack 4 Kids, Hearing Aids, Recycling used glasses, hearing, cell phones, etc.
The Ocala 200 Lions Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 10:30 am at The Way Church, located at 7173 SW Hwy 200, Ocala, FL 34481. Visitors are always welcome! For further information please contact Lion Val Ostrom.

General Information

We are always looking for new members interested in serving others in our community with sight and hearing problems. Email us at InfoOcala200LionsClub@gmail.com if you would like to attend one of our meetings to check out our club and see all the good things we do for others less fortunate. You only have to be as active as you feel compelled to be and there are several areas of opportunity and learning we can offer our members. Ask any Lion for an application and they will be more than happy to sponsor you.
